The Robin2 Lightweight is refreshed with these new features. Its mid-size makes the Robin2 an easy knife to carry everyday in an office our outdoor environment. Its full-flat ground blade is high-carbon 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with a comet-shaped hole for one hand opening/closing. Jimping (crosshatching) dots the spine, making a textured section where the thumb rests, creating tactile resistance that restrains the folder from sliding and slipping when cutting. The FRN (fibreglass reinforced nylon) handle is moulded with Bi-Directional Texturing? with a fish-scales pattern. The scales hold the knife steady while cutting even in hands that are wet, slick or gloved. The welcome addition of a four-way clip offers the option of carrying the folder tip-up/tip-down or left-right-handed and a lanyard hole located at the back of the handle accommodates a secondary-retentive thong or cord. Much of the byrd Knife Line is being upgraded through a process called C.Q.I. or constant quality improvement. As the line broadens, existing models are receiving upgraded enhancements such as improved ergonomics, four-way pocket clips and high performance full-flat ground blades.

The Robin2 G-10 is refreshed with these new features.

The handle is made of a front and back G-10 scale set over a stainless liner. G-10 is an epoxy-filled laminate with a weave-texture similar to cloth. It provides secure and steady grip when cutting, resists chemicals, oil and temperature extremes. The welcome addition of a four-way clip offers the option of carrying the folder tip-up/tip-down or left-right-handed and a lanyard hole located at the back of the handle accommodates a secondary-retentive thong or cord.

Byrd Tern ~ BY23G
Non Locking

The BY23 byrd Tern is a non-locking folder. Folding knives with blades that don't lock open are in many cases the only legal-carry pocket knife option in countries and cities where restrictions have been adopted forbidding carrying folding knives with locking blades. As more counties enact strict knife laws, the concept of non-locking knives continues gaining momentum.

The Tern has a black G-10 handle resistant to warping and fading. The blade is held in the open position during cutting by a notched-joint at the knife?s pivot. When closing the blade, the notch produces resistance functionally similar to traditional slip-joint penknife. To enhance control and comfort there's a deep finger choil which jogs the index finger into position on the bottom of the blade directly under the thumb.

Placing the index finger in the choil, the finger acts as a stop, inhibiting the blade from closing when cutting and allows the user to choke-up closer to the cutting edge with comfort and dexterity. A wire clip positions the folder to carry deep in a pocket, tip-up and ready for use left or right-handed.

The Tern has an 8Cr13Mov leaf-shape full flat-ground blade available in a Plain Edge. The handle is assembled with screw-together construction and a lanyard hole located at the handle's edge accommodates secondary retention through attachment of a lanyard or thong.

Byrd Meadowlark2 G-10
~ BY04G2

Upgrade alert! byrd knives are the subject of a number of engineering refinements for 2010 with improved ergonomics, four-way clips and full-flat ground blades. Like Spyderco knives, byrd knives are subject to our penchant for C.Q.I. - Constant Quality Improvement. As manufacturing processes and material availability improves, so do the byrds.

The newest evolution of the Meadowlark is the Meadowlark2 with a G-10 handle. It has a full-flat ground high performance 8Cr13MoV blade. Shaped like a "comet" the hole in the blade symbolizes quality and careful manufacturing tolerances. On the blade's spine is a group of crosshatching called jimping. Jimping enhances the thumb's grip on top of the blade making cutting slip-resistant. Available for the first time with a four-way clip that carries tip-up/tip down or left/right-handed, it attaches inside a pant's pocket where it rides deep and confidently. A finger choil enhances the ergonomic G-10 handle adding comfort and control. Mid-positioned back lock has a David Boye cut away dent, a safety feature allowing the handle to be tightly gripped without unintentionally releasing the lock.
